Fiber Disc

Fiber Glass Sanding Disc
Glass fiber abrasive discs are suitable for polishing marble, metal, glass fiber, and floor. Anti-blocking, dust removal, fast heat removal, grinding and planing.
Compared with the traditional red vulcanized fiber abrasive disc, although the glass fiber abrasive disc is more complicated to process, the cost is higher, and the output is lower, the advantages are also obvious:

The vulcanized fiber abrasive sheet is mainly used for grinding and polishing of metal, stone and wood. The substrate is high-strength green vulcanized fiber , and the abrasive can be brown corundum, silicon carbide and zirconium corundum, respectively for different working materials.
vulcanized fiber abrasive discs (commonly known as vulcanized fiber abrasive discs) are circular abrasive wheels with vulcanized fiber as the base material, with synthetic resin and abrasive grain coating on one side. The vulcanized fiber abrasive sheet is installed in the angle grinder through the corresponding support pad, which is mainly used for metal processing. The safety requirements for steel abrasive discs and their support pads are specified in EN 13743. The maximum peripheral speed (maximum operating speed) of the steel abrasive sheet is 80 m / s.

Due to the wide range of abrasive particle sizes and different support pad structures, the application range of vulcanized fiber abrasive pads ranges from rough machining to fine grinding. The advantages of vulcanized fiber grinding discs compared to the hundred-leaf discs and sanding discs are the elasticity of the backing base, which makes the vulcanized fiber grinding discs have good adaptability, achieving a more fine and uniform grinding effect (compared with the sanding discs), and The most important thing is the low price.
Disadvantages are shorter lifespans compared to hundred-leaf dishes, and higher sensitivity to moisture and temperature.

Tissue abrasive sheets should be stored in an environment with an average relative air humidity of 45-65% [see Abrasive Storage]. Too high or too low air humidity can cause the pads to bend.
Avoid overheating during sanding. In the case of overheating, for example due to high pressure or grinding position, the backing may overheat or form bubbles, which will cause the abrasive particles to break.
